Subject:	The Supreme Court and Obamacare

Dear Editor:

The Supreme Court is deliberating on whether the Federal Government has the authority to require citizens to purchase health insurance. If the government does not have this authority, they also do not have the obligation to provide care for people decide not to buy insurance.

In a related story, an autopsy determined today that Anna Brown died in a jail cell from blood clots that formed in her legs and migrated to her lungs. She was jailed because she refused to leave the St. Mary�s Hospital emergency room, where she complained of pains in her legs.

The radical right likes to call Obamacare �socialized medicine�. The truth is that Obamacare will use the free market to provide health care. People will be free to select the plan and the doctors of their choice. The requirement is simply that employers must offer a plan of insurance.

If the Supreme Court strikes down Obamacare, we may soon live in a tea party utopia where 40 million poor people will have the freedom to die without hospital care, like Anna Brown.
