re "Is gun control the answer", July 19
A number of your readers don't seem familiar with the term "Draconian". As for locking up for 15 years without parole ever callow kid who shoots off a gun along with his mouth, society simply can't afford the tab for that. You paying, Mark Evans?

The government could make rather than spend a ton of money if they jacked up the cost of restricted gun licenses and invested in better, more secure facilities where gun owners could store their semiautomatics -- be they handguns or rifles. How many people you think are allowed to keep semiautomatics at home in Singapore?
