Dear Editor:

It is utterly ridiculous for a subcontinent to have performed average till now in the London Olympics. Heard that the nation is developing and had heard that 20 years back too!
 
What a good bunch of bureaucrats grooming a population of 1.22 billion that fails to qualify and make a decent count of medals in such a respectful game. 
 
Its a nation which can watch games on television but does not allow their near and dear ones to pursue a career in games, which according to their most relevant imaginations can not make a living.
 
Its a nation where cricket is the religion and temples must be built only to worship that very game. The others are free to lie under trees and funded occasionally. Where you either need to play cricket or be pretty enough to endorse the finest brand of perfume, bathing soap and fit in to the lime light.
 
Its not just games, its every where that the culture has died, the talents melted, the courage diminished, and the work gets done only when the palms are greased. The sparks are curbed, new ideas are considered too risky, and hopes are constantly, brutally and violently killed.
 
But its never too late to wake up, rise beyond the obvious and show the world what we can achieve.
