GO WENT, GONE ...LALIT MODI

Dear Editor: Its go, went and gone for Lalit Modi after BCCI President Shashank Manohar announced in Mumbai on Monday that Mr Lalit Modi has been suspended and stripped off all the posts, he was holding. What a vertical fall and indignity/ humiliation for this high flying mentor of IPL.. Baroda Cricket Association President Chirayu Amin has been appointed the interim Chairman of the Indian Premier League in Modi's place, who has came in for a scathing attack from almost all quarters. Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Board President Manohar said Modi would be charged on five counts - shady initial bids of Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab, a suspect broadcast deal with Sony, bid rigging of two new franchises, Pune & Kochi, this year and his dictatorial behavioral pattern. Trying to out maneuver everyone and show the world that he and he alone runs IPL like Hitler. With regards to the 2011 IPL, Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar and M A K Pataudi will collectively decide the modalities of holding the event. All three are much esteemed persons from Indian Cricket and very popular even after their retirement. Only problem is they were also part of earlier IPL Governing council, when Mr Modi was chairman and Commissioner and what were these three loved gentlemen doing in governing council when all these mishaps happened. Only Tiger Pataudi, in his interview to NDTV, has admitted carelessness on their part as everything seemed to be moving in the right direction with tons of money pouring from everywhere. Only silver lining for Lalit Modi is assurance given to him that if he manages to convince the Board of his innocence in his reply, the inquiry proceedings against him would be dropped. As a cricket buff, I do sincerely hope, wish and pray that this stigma, shame and disgrace cautions all concerned in taking corrective measures to ensure that Brand value of IPL Is maintained with honor and dignity. For Lalit Modi, who is always smiling, old popular number now is very apt and pertinent ...Chal udh jaa re Lalit , ab yeh IPL hua begaana
