Dear Editor: ACT Broadband internet went off on 12th Dec 2016 in most of Chennai owing to Vardah cyclone. While many others have restored connections with a week or two, they are still working on basics. The company is publishing news on % restored; however there are many people flocking the office restored connections are not intact or has been marked as restored inappropriately. The company shut down their customer care number and worked only on tickets or compliants raised by people walking in personally to their office. The prime issue is one week or two weeks okay one month?? To top it their customer handling scores a -1000 if i could. There is no communication channel, there is no response to emails, SMS they sent (now stopped) tells we will revert with esimated time and the estimate is always anytime 2 days or 4 days or some date which they never achieve and they do not even update the customer after giving false promises. They are not even proceeding with disconnection or accepting disconnection request. I expect they will restore all connections in the city by 27th Dec 2017. If ACT broadband wants to retain their customer, they should either compensate loss in work or they should give 3 months free internet on our subscribed plans. Our neighbours connections were restored on 27th Dec 2016 from then on we are following up they told 2 days, 2 days and 6th Jan became 8th Jan and now 14th Jan... I forgot to ask which year. Infact on 3rd Jan when i spoke to the Nodal Officer Mr Kumar Reddy he told 2 days and their employee a Mr Vijay (8754453053) called and informed the ticket is being addressed on high priority will be fixed by 8 pm and he will call me to confirm. So far, the 8 pm for Mr. Vijay has not arrived and the 2 days for Mr. Kumar is still ongoing...2 days for them = 20 days for us. From 27th Dec it is now 7th Jan and today they had told 14th Jan. 14th Jan it will be 30th Jan i presume. I treat this medium to request all who read and use ACT Broadband please do not pay the bills, and continue with ACT connection only if they give a free 3 months internet from the date of restoration on the subscribed plan.
