Letter to the Editor Sent to :
DAILY TELEGRAPH , THE (LONDON)
Dear Editor: Drivers of DERVs (necessary commercial vehicles excepted) need to man-up and accept personal responsibility for their part in polluting the UK. Blaming a feeble Blair/Brown government simply won't do: the simple science and damning medical evidence has been available for all to see, for at least the last 25 years. Those who failed to register any of the statistics had, and still have only to walk a few yards in any city to see, smell, taste and hear the noxious emissions. Parking penalties are a start but all private DERVs should be banned in the UK from 2025. This will allow 8 years for drivers to sort themselves out. Our air quality would be transformed, saving the NHS (should it continue to exist in its present form) billions of pounds over the years ahead.
